3 years ago today we bagged Carn Dearg munro near Corrour and wildcamped down by Corrour Old Lodge.

This trip will always be a memorable one for us. Our son had broken his femur earlier in the year and this was our first big backpacking trip with him again. We were hesitant and nervous and it was one of those days where we went from plan A on to plan B and then some. We argued. We laughed. We went slow and accomplished what we set out to do.

Then we headed downhill to camp and seek a bit of shelter for the night from an oncoming storm. The cloud rolled in, the rain hammered down but we were snug in our tent, cosy. The following morning Keith mentioned hearing footsteps and put it down to friendly neighbourhood deer. Our son on the other hand said he saw eyes peering at us under the outer tent. We laughed it off, thinking what a sense of mischief our 3yo has!! Then we got home and read about spooky goings on near the Old Lodge... to this day we still don't know... 🏕👻
