I'm still processing what we've just signed up for, feeling terrified and thinking what the.....?!

50 miles over 2 days! 🥴 Raising money for @brainstrustuk who have been incredible since my dad's brain tumour diagnosis last year and with their ongoing support. We're just waiting on the results from his check up MRI and back to feeling terrified again, so I thought it would be best to channel that energy in to something useful!

Ive not done anything like this before but I'm trying to tell myself it'll be ok, just one step after the other 😬 If you have any tips please share! Training starts today 🙈💪😅

Some days, the hardest thing for us is just getting out of the door!

Yesterday started off as one of those mornings, but I'm so glad we stuck with it! We all eventually snapped out of our grumpy moods and even managed a few smiles at the top! 😁🥳 The path was nearly 400m straight up, but it made reaching the summit with views across Loch Tay and towards the Lawers range all the more sweeter, just look at those views! 😍

I feel like I'm skipping into the weekend after yesterdays adventure!

We explored somewhere new with friends. We saw a frog, ogled at all the wildflowers and the smell of wild garlic was everywhere! Yum! We saw lots of waterfalls, eyed up future wildswimming spots and ate lunch by a castle. We had a great time!

That takes us to 505hrs outside for our #1000hoursoutside challenge 💚

I'm so glad I set the alarm to catch this sunrise the other day. Sometimes it's easy to let excuses get in the way - but I'm exhausted/but we've got a busy week/ is this really a good idea? All thoughts that came to mind and all valid points!

I still hadn't decided if I was doing this or not at 9pm the night before 🙈 but then I thought, even if I didn't do this, I'd STILL be exhausted, we'd still be busy and it may or may not be a good idea but surely it's a chance worth taking?

I woke my 9yo at 1:30, whispering "Shall we go chase the sunrise?". In an instant he was awake, excited that this would be our time, just me and him. We drove through thick fog on our way, my overactive imagination going in to overdrive 🤪... When we got there, we didn't need headtorches as the sky was beginning to colour, so we slowly started making our way up to the summit. "Did you hear that? Did you see that mum? That rock just moved!!!" Having an overactive imagination runs in our family 😫😅🤣

We got to the summit with plenty of time to spare, so we stood watching the colours, whispering bad jokes and giggling/cringing at his 9yo humour 🙈 It was magic. We are still exhausted, we still are busy but it was DEFINITELY a good idea!

A team effort all round with our youngest waking us up 90 minutes before the alarm 🥴 and Keith having the pancakes and much needed coffee ready for when we got home 😍 What a team!

Because sometimes hiking with kids can feel a bit like herding cats! 😅

I've got a few days hiking planned with them next week and I can't wait! Weather's looking good, new routes and points of interest mapped out to keep their interest going, trail mix bought (and taste tested too 😏🤭) and if we have to move to plan B, that's ok! For us, it's being outdoors together that counts. Summits can wait! Kids are magic, they make you really live in the moment and accept nothing, absolutely nothing less! 😅 I'm both excited by these new hikes... and slightly terrified but as with everything, one step at a time eh? 🙈🤷🏻‍♀️😆

I still can't get over last night! I was sat with

I still can't get over last night! I was sat with him while he was going to sleep but he was really fidgety. After a while, without saying a word, he got out of bed, climbed up onto me, snuggled up and promptly went to sleep in my arms! I tried my hardest not to give him giant squishy hugs, smother him in kisses or gush about how beautiful he is, so I sat there quietly, breathing him in deeply, looking at him in wonder, thinking he was so much bigger than the last time he did that and realising that it has probably been years! 😭 He's 3yo in a couple of months, growing up so fast but for a while last night, the whole world just stopped 💞
