While my parents have been visiting, me and Keith While my parents have been visiting, me and Keith took a day to get some serious miles under our belts without the boys, in preparation for the fundraiser we're taking part in, in just a few months... A 3am wake up, to start the Fife Coastal Path from Newburgh to the Tay Road Bridge, 19 miles in total with about 650m ascent. I'm still aching πŸ™ˆ, still very terrified of this challenge but so very thankful for @brainstrustuk ,the help they gave us and the fact my dad is still here today with us! Time to step up the training!! Reposted from @betamagazineclub Hi everyone, I'm Stacey from @anoutdoorsfamily and I'll be on today's takeover, chatting about outdoors family time and a bit about being an adventure mum over on the stories throughout the day. My husband, Keith and I had a lot of adventures before having kids and we knew it was something we wanted to carry on doing with babies in tow. It is just as possible as our pre kid days, it's just a little different! This picture is from one of our biggest family adventures - 8 weeks shared parental leave spent in New Zealand with our then 6yo and 6mo. It was a great time, not without its challenges of long days travelling (36hr of flights there to start us off...) but that's all part of the adventure! Sure enough, family life can be busy and chaotic, but getting outside together is our way of reconnecting, without any distractions. It recentres us all and I know I will always feel better for our adventures outside, it's not always easy, but it's always worth it 🌿 #betamagazine #anoutdoorsfamily #womenwhoexplore #womenwhohike #adventurefamily

Come join me as I share a bit more about our family adventures and share our top tips and favourite trips! I've also just started a different page about my adventures as a plus size hiker over at @stacey.outdoors. I'm a definite believer that the outdoors is for every body. Sometimes it's so difficult finding time as a mum for your own adventures too or all your focus goes on your kids, which is great but can be exhausting at times so that account is my little reminder that mums can be a total badass at outdoor adventures too and that the outdoors and definitely your kids don't care what you look like! The other day I made the mistake of saying "I can' The other day I made the mistake of saying "I can't believe baby boy is nearly 3!".... to which I was very sternly told "I'm NOT a baby mummy!" We're planning a little birthday party for him with my parents soon, who we haven't seen in over 10 months and who we're also having a party with, to celebrate the fact that treatment on my dad's brain tumour has worked, it's looking good πŸ₯³ It'll also be the first chance for kid free day for me and Keith in nearly 2 years..... which is kind of mind boggling and exciting and also exhausting! 🀣 The hike has been planned though πŸ˜…πŸ€£ #anoutdoorsfamily #tinybigadventure #1000hoursoutside #MyTiso #hikingadventures #moretoexploreoutdoors #hikingchildhood #familyadventures #neverstopexploring #kidswhohike #showthemtheworld
