What's a woodpeckers favourite joke?
.....
A knock knock joke! 🤭😂 This is our sons favourite joke, and I think I needed that laugh today! Wide open spaces and views for miles too (obviously!) but that will happen in time. I'm never taking anything for granted again! For now, I'm just going to ogle the many photos I take of our family adventures, thankful that family and friends remain well, plan future adventures (I'm thinking one heck of a multi day hike!!) and plan tomorrows walk from the house.

We tried to do this walk the other week, but had to turn back because of the weather. This morning, it couldn't have been better, with blue skies for miles and views to snowy hills in the distance. A great day for talking things over as a family and bagging third hill for my 40 hill challenge!

It was so busy, we inevitably got questions about time off school and how much better it was to be outdoors. Sure, except here's the thing. We home educate our eldest and have done for going on three years. He wasn't too shy in saying he was home educated and I braced myself for the usual questions and snarky comments though they didn't come this time... Getting outdoors on a week day is nothing new to us. Not being able to go to the groups, clubs, libraries, museums etc and meet ups with friends is! This isn't the home ed we're used to and it's taking time for us to adjust to this too!
But I have a feeling that getting outside is going to play an even bigger part in our lives from now 🌿

Getting our fix of outdoors time always brings out gear envy in our youngest, who was his happiest wearing Keith's ski helmet! It wasn't good enough for skiing but man, how they flew on their sledge!!!! To my partner in crime in this crazy rollercoaster called life, who makes me laugh till my cheeks hurt even at the end of a long day, who is the best dad to our 2 boys, who keeps coming up with fun adventure ideas for our family, who is (annoyingly so don't tell him!) the calm and reason to my fiery, stubborn noisy head and who makes the best giant cups of coffee in the mornings.... happiest of birthdays Keith!! Anyone else have kids who are early risers? I'm trying to embrace this stage right now and make the most of it!
